How do I take my first reading?
Open PostureVision and you'll see Daily Check on the Today tab. Tap Begin check, allow camera access, and follow the gentle prompt on screen.
The first session takes about 60 seconds. You'll see your Poise score at the end — a single number that combines posture, stability, focus, and presence. The more you come back, the more the app learns about you.
What do the four pillars mean?
Posture — how your head, neck, and shoulders align right now.
Stability — how steady your alignment stays over the session.
Focus — how present your gaze and attention appear based on blink rate and eye state.
Presence — how much your whole self shows up — fullness of breath, micro-movement patterns, the subtle signals that you're actually here.
Together, they roll into your Poise score.
How often should I use it?
Start with a Daily Check every morning. It's 60 seconds. The rest — Mirror Mode, ROM, Activations — you add as you get curious.
Most people feel a noticeable shift in about two weeks of consistent use. That's not a promise — it's what we see in the data.
What devices work with PostureVision?
Any device with a front-facing camera and a modern browser: iPhone (iOS 15+), iPad, Android (Chrome), Mac, PC. You need at least good lighting and a stable camera position — propped on a desk works better than handheld.
Native iOS and Android apps are available in the App Store and Play Store.
Where should I put my camera?
Chest to face height, about an arm's length away, in decent lighting. The app shows a setup-quality indicator when you start a session — if it says Good, you're set.
Avoid backlighting (windows behind you) and heavy shadows. If the indicator says Poor, adjusting the camera angle usually fixes it in 10 seconds.
Is PostureVision a medical device?
No. PostureVision is a wellness tool. It's designed to build body awareness and track patterns over time — it is not a diagnostic tool, and it does not replace seeing a doctor, chiropractor, or physical therapist.
If you're experiencing acute pain, numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, progressive weakness, or recent head trauma, please see a licensed clinician before relying on wellness tools.
Is my camera feed stored or uploaded?
No, not by default. Your camera frames are processed live — the app extracts posture measurements (angles, keypoint positions) and discards the frames immediately. We never see the pictures of you sitting there, only the numbers that describe your posture.
If you opt into the Self-Corrections replay feature in Settings, a low-resolution silhouette reconstruction is stored for 30 days so you can watch your session back. This is always opt-in. You can turn it off any time, and stored silhouettes are deleted within 30 days.
Full details: Privacy Policy §3.
Camera access was denied — how do I fix it?
On iOS: Settings → PostureVision → Camera → Allow.
On Android: Settings → Apps → PostureVision → Permissions → Camera → Allow.
On web: click the camera icon in the address bar, select "Always allow," then refresh the page.
Can I use PostureVision without a camera?
No — PostureVision is a computer-vision app. The camera is how we measure. We can't generate Poise scores without it.
If you're uncomfortable with the camera, we recommend taking a closer look at our Privacy Policy before deciding. We built this with camera privacy as a first-class concern.
Does PostureVision use AI? Is my data used to train models?
PostureVision uses computer-vision models to extract posture measurements. We use aggregated, de-identified session data to improve our own models over time.
We do not use your data to train external AI models, and we never sell data to third parties.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your session measurements, replay silhouettes, intake answers, and profile data are purged within 30 days. Your subscription cancels automatically.
If you want a copy of your data first, use Export my data in the same screen. You'll receive a JSON download link by email within 24 hours.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
When you start a Poise subscription, you get 7 days of full access at no charge. We collect your payment method up front but don't charge you until the trial ends.
We send a reminder email 24 hours before your trial ends. Cancel anytime before then and you won't be charged.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Settings → Subscription → Cancel. You'll keep full access until the end of your current billing period — we don't take access away the moment you cancel.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Play Store, you'll need to cancel from your device's subscription settings (this is a platform limitation, not a PostureVision choice).
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If you're within 7 days of being charged and you haven't used PostureVision much, email us at billing@posture.vision and we'll refund you, no questions asked.
Outside that window, we'll still work with you — we'd rather figure out what's not working than keep money you don't want to pay.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes. Settings → Subscription → Change plan. We prorate the difference automatically.
My payment failed — what happens?
We'll email you and try the charge again over three days. During that time, you keep full access — we don't lock you out for a payment hiccup.
If it still fails after three days, your account drops to the Free tier (Daily Check only). You can update your payment method in Settings → Billing at any time to restore full access.
Do you offer family plans or discounts?
Not yet. We'll add these after launch. In the meantime, if you're a student, a healthcare practitioner, or in a financial hardship situation, email us — we often work something out.
What's a good Poise score?
There's no universal "good" score — your Poise score is relative to your own baseline. A score of 82 for someone recovering from an injury is a huge win; the same score for a yoga teacher might be a rough day.
Focus on your trend, not the absolute number. The Progress tab shows this clearly.
What is a Self-Correction?
A Self-Correction is when you drift from your baseline posture and come back to it on your own — without the app showing you a coaching cue. It's a signal that you're building body awareness.
Most people don't realize how often they self-correct. Seeing the count go up is one of the most validating moments in the product.
What's the difference between Mirror Mode and Active Mode?
Mirror Mode is passive — you see yourself, you see your score, and the app stays out of your way. Great for getting a real read on how you naturally sit or stand.
Active Mode is guided — the app gently offers coaching cues when it notices you drifting. Great when you want to actively practice better posture.
Both live in the same session; you can toggle between them mid-session.
My scores jump around — is something wrong?
Small variation is normal. Larger jumps usually mean camera-setup issues (lighting changed, angle shifted) or that you actually moved significantly mid-session.
If scores feel way off from what you're physically experiencing, email hello@posture.vision with your session ID (in the rundown screen). We'll look at the data with you.
What's Eye Health (fatigue score)?
Visual fatigue is a composite signal from your blink rate, eye openness over time, and other micro-cues. High fatigue = your eyes would benefit from a reset.
If the app detects high fatigue, it'll offer a gentle 30-second break. You can always say "no, continue" — it's never a hard interrupt.
The app says my camera setup is "Poor"
Usually one of three things:
1. Camera too low. Prop your device so the camera is roughly chest-to-face height, not looking up at you.
2. Backlighting. If a bright window is behind you, the app can't see your face clearly. Face the light source instead.
3. Too close. About an arm's length away is ideal.
The video feed froze mid-session
Refresh the page (web) or close and reopen the app (mobile). If it keeps happening, check your internet connection — PostureVision needs a stable connection to our scoring servers.
If the problem persists, send us the session ID and the browser/device you're using.
I can't capture baseline — it keeps failing
Baseline capture needs you to hold still for 3 seconds while the app reads your posture. Common fixes:
1. Check that your whole upper body is in frame (head, neck, both shoulders).
2. Make sure lighting is consistent — not a flickering TV behind you.
3. Give the app a second after tapping — if you start moving immediately, baseline can't lock.
If it still fails, email hello@posture.vision with the session ID.
My Self-Corrections count seems off
Self-Correction detection requires a baseline and at least a few minutes of session data. If you end sessions quickly, you may not hit the detection threshold.
Longer Mirror Mode sessions (5+ minutes) are where this metric really comes alive.
